Some students / parents have asked me how to set up writing on their computer screen instead of using a mouse. Here are some ideas for drawing / writing tablets. They plug into your computer’s USB. You write on the tablet, and it shows up on your computer screen.
- Turcom TS6580W drawing tablet – 8×5 inch – $50
- Huion H420 drawing tablet – 4×2¼ inch drawing tablet – $43
- Turcom TS6608 drawing tablet – 8×6 inch USB drawing tablet – $50
- OSU Tablet VEIKK S640 – 6×4 inch drawing tablet – $40
- VEIKK A30 drawing tablet – 10×6 inch – $66

I’ll also be testing using the whiteboard with an Android tablet. If it works, it might be easier writing with a finger or inexpensive stylus than writing with a mouse. I’ll update this after I try it. I tried it with 10 year old Samsung Android tablet, but it is too old and is not compatible with today’s web page standards. If anyone else has tried a tablet (Android, Microsoft, iPad, etc.), please let me know how you like it.
If you want to, you can fill out this questionnaire, too.

I tried using Bramble’s online tutoring platform on a Samsung Android tablet. It worked fine. The size of the screen may be a limitation, but the benefit of using your finger (or a phone stylus) to write seems to be of benefit. If you want to try it, log in during our next tutoring session together with both your regular way and the tablet a few minutes early to test it out. (Turn the volume down on them so you don’t get feedback noise between the two.)
